Standard Distance Triathlon Plan

Weeks/Duration:
12
Category:
Triathlon
Subcategory:
Triathlon
Experience:
Beginner

This plan is aimed at getting you ready for your first standard distance event. It contains the minimum amount of training you should do so that you don't suffer your way through the event!

So this is a good plan for beginners and those who do not have a lot of time to train. It is a low volume plan.

There are 6 scheduled workouts in a week, for most weeks: 2 swim, 2 bike and 2 run. There are some brick/transition sessions as you approach the event date.

Because this is already a low volume plan - I do recommend that you try to complete all the scheduled workouts.

The plan is broken down into 4 week blocks:
1. Base building and returning to structured training
2. Improving your speed and endurance
3. Preparing for your event.

You can extend or repeat blocks 1 and 2 as you need to, to fit the time you have before your event.
