About the Recipe

This one is sure to please the kids. I had three toddlers eating this take on "nutella" by the spoonful!

Ingredients

1 1/2 c of hazelnuts

1/4 c cocoa powder

1/4t salt

1/2c milk of your choice

1/3 maple syrup or rice malt syrup

1t vanilla essence

1T coconut oil

Preparation

  1. You will first need to roast the hazelnuts (or buy some already roasted. Heat the oven to 180 degrees C and spread nuts out on an oven tray.

  2. Roast for about 8mins or until golden (if you over roast the spread will have a burnt taste to it).

  3. Then roll the nuts in a tea towel to remove the skins.

  4. Then it is easy from here. Simply add all the ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth. You may need to scrape the sides down a couple of times.

  5. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
